About

S. Werner

My name is Mrs. Stacia Werner, and I am incredibly excited to continue my journey serving Lake County Schools as Principal of Tavares Elementary.  I reside locally in Lake County with my husband, Scott, and our college son, Cody. You may see me on one of our many beautiful lakes or canals, stand up paddle boarding, or canoeing with family and friends. As a proud University of South Florida Education Department graduate, I began my teaching career in the Tampa Bay Area, moving to Lake County Schools in October 2014. I am entering my 26th year in education, which includes teaching in the classroom for 14 years, being an instructional coach and professional development trainer for seven years, and being an assistant principal for the last four years.

This year’s theme is Pawsitive Steps to Success, where all Bullpups, big and small, work together for a brighter future. My passion for building positive relationships with students, families, and community partners is the foundation from which I believe we can achieve greatness. Helping our students grow to become the best versions of themselves starts with being student-centered. I encourage all stakeholders to provide input and feedback to ensure that each decision is based on what is best for all students. I aim to serve our community by strengthening a positive teaching and learning environment through high expectations and positivity. Tavares Elementary is integral to Lake County Schools, and that tradition will continue. Together, we are elevating our school to the next level of success, one “Pawsitive” step at a time.
